A bas-relief was found near Parishan Lake in 2004 and was registered in Iran’s national heritage list. Due to Its features, it is assumed to belong to the Sassanid dynesty. Since the purpose of creating the relief and its subject was unknown, it was analyzed by comparing with other Sassanid coins and stones. Considering the existence of reedy and lake in the area and its location on the top of the mountain, also a woman’s image depicted on relief, we can come to this conclusion that this image belongs to the Anahita, goddess of water, and like other Sassanid reliefs is situated close to springs, rivers and is related to their rituals. Anahita was “Goddess of Waters” and hence is associated with fertility, felicity in Iranian ancient culture.

The celestial element, the sun, whose extraordinary energy illuminates the moon and stars and the human life depends on, has been praised in many ancient beliefs by scholars and philosophers. The sun was praised because of its life giving benefits or because people were afraid that they would make it angry and lose it. In this paper, the position of the myth of the sun in Iranian and Indian beliefs as two Aryan nations will be investigated and the effects of it in the ancient texts of both nations will be compared to reveal their differences and similarities.

The old land of Iran has many ancient holy sites. These locations other than relating to the existing religions, are associated with the Iranian ancient faith. Iranian have respected the life-giving and natural elements throughout history and dedicated temples to them. Church of St. Stephanos was one of the great temples of Iran in the past. In order to understand the ancient history of Jolfa, we need to understand particular features such as engravings, symbolic patterns, nature and architectural characteristics. In this paper the hypothesis is sought to be proved by generally mentioning the importance of region history, describing the features of the Building and by analyzing the reliefs. Religious symbols and natural indicators are the evidence to prove this hypothesis that: St. Stephanos church was used as a holy place in ancient Persian history and then it has been altered to a church during the time.

Ritual ceremonies have roots in people’s beliefs and they have been established over the centuries. Such ceremonies are held either closed architectural spaces, such as temples, or urban and public spaces. This study examines the relationship between urban space and ritual ceremonies in three cities of India. Examination of these cases revealed that three types of connections are available between city and a ceremony: First, central in Qawwali ceremony in Delhi; second, widespread in Mewar festival in Udiapur; and third, linear in holy baptism ritual and the festival of light on the banks of the River Ganges in Varanasi. This article reviews the environment, activities, physical movement, visual communication, sound communication and public health. These components have critical importance when a huge number of populations gather for the ceremony. Moreover, we acknowledge the effect of these ceremonies on the shaping of the cities.Field observations support the idea that because of unplanned population growth, urban spaces have imposed many limitations to hold collective rituals and ceremonies. However, possibly when these ritual ceremonies were formed, the urban spaces could provide proper platform for these events. Considering that form has an important role in the continuity of these ceremonies, the before mentioned limitations could disrupted the durability of rituals in the long term.

Human being has been looking for a place to demonstrate "the sacred" from the beginning of his creation. Thus, he created such special places to object the Spirit of God in there. Temples are one of these places."Temples" in Hinduism are places for manifestation of "Avatar " of gods. People gatherat the temples to obeisance in front of them and offer their votive such as flowers, incense, candy, holy water and so on. These manifestations are seen in the form of different arts such as paintings and sculptures and son on inside the temples. But in this paper, we are just going to study sculptures. During the last centuries, they could be seen in caves and temples but now you can see many of them in present temples, residential areas and Hindu’s homes. Hinduism which is the ancient ceremonies of the Indian subcontinent is still the dominant religion of India. Most of the artworks in this subcontinent issomehow related to this religion. Most of the artworks in this subcontinent were related to Buddhist and Hindu sculptures and architecture for centuries (from the third century BC to the 5th and 6th century AD). Temples, stone, metal or wooden statues, reliefs of multiple gods, paintings on the walls of caves and temples can be seen in abundance in different parts of India. Studying them from beginning till now shows that despite many changes that occurred in raw materials, dimensions and decorations; same tradition has been respected in their creation. In this respect, the main focus in on Trimurti temples. This trinity rooted in Hindi ancient beliefs and represents a new idea of connection and oneness of creation, preservation and destruction that returns to Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, respectively. These believes can be seen in multiplicity of temples on each of the manifestations so that the multitude of their temples can be justified based on the role that they had played in universe. This study is based on field observations during travel and library studies to investigate these manifestations. Case examples in this study include Alfanta Caves, Ajanta, Ellora and "important temples of Shiva" and "Vishnu" and "Brahma" in various parts of India.
